Visuall Art by Kajal Malekzadeh
“Panorama” is a video art about the prison guard’s panoramic view of the prisoner in the form of a montage of CCTV images, this is a reaction to the installation of thousands of CCTV cameras in Tehran after the November 2019 protests. which makes it easier for the government to monitor and suppress citizens. As a result, it seems as if Tehran itself has turned into a big prison under the ruler’s panoramic gaze, this work is a reaction to this transformation in the daily life of the people of Tehran.Performance Art.

These musical instruments were invented by the Cutartists Group for a performance on the back of a truck. All instruments combine in one creating a large box that covers the audience. The idea was to perform underground music over ground in a private space moving within a public space! The audience where invited from the street and they would listen to cardboard musical instruments played for them behind a truck. This happened on 26 Oct. 2011.

Urban Installation by Mina Eftekhari
In Iran, after the Islamic revolution of 1979, for years, the Islamic government has used religious ceremonies as a tool to impose religious ideas and beliefs on the people, and more than ever, it is trying to make the face of the city and the people completely religious, contrary to the existing reality. An attempt to build a “united urban body”. This urban installation and performance was carried out on the night of Ashura in the month of Muharram in 2011, at the anniversary Green Movement, despite the most severe security restrictions and at the same time as the suppression of protesters.
The performance was such that suddenly wigs made of women’s hair, like a replica of their severed heads, were hung from the famous bridge in Tehran, and for a few hours free and left in the wind. those wigs took over the street as a testimony of the presence of missing women’s heads and bodies. Announcement of the presence of “Other”. That night a dream was formed. An imagination that after a decade has resurfaced and revived in the Iranian Movement of ” Woman Life Freedom”.
The next morning, these wigs were pulled down by police in front of everyone’s eyes. An argument broke out among the people who had gathered under the bridge, and finally, this performance ended and was lost in history in the commotion of the years after the Green Movement until a decade later it was performed again, this time by other unknown performers in protest against The murder of “Gina-Mehsa Amini” and “Compulsive Hijab” should be repeated in every corner of this city and other cities.

SLAUGHTERING MARCH 2010
Performance Art by Mina Eftekhari
The performance of the “Slaughtering March” in 2009 began with a walk on the street and stopped in front of two busy shopping malls in the north of Tehran, and finally ended with the intervention of police officers and an attempt to arrest the performer. The performance was based on several points of my opinion about Tehran and the social life of the people of this metropolis. From the very beginning of its idea, the performance was an attempt to remove the normal function of “presence” in the public arena and disrupt the imposed dominant order. During the performance, for a short period of time, the sidewalk, which was a place for passers-by to pass each other without pausing, changed its function and gave its place to a place to stand, gather and talk. The performance was trying to create a break in the normal routine.
