In Memory of Arash Talebi
1986-2015

Mina Eftekhari
Artist, activist, researcher
Mina was born in 1983 in Tehran. She started her artistic activity in 1998 at the age of 15 by entering the “Young Cinematographers Center” and at the same time, she succeeded in obtaining a diploma in filmmaking at the “Tehran High Film School”. After that, she studied performing arts at University.
In 2010, she became a member of the Cutartists performance art
She has been involved in various activities in this field including many performances in the streets and galleries. She has also held several workshops in this field.
In 2019, she joined the underground filmmaking collective «Jump Cut», and in 2021, she appeared in the short film project “Two” as an actress and screenwriter. She also played a role in the film “Momentography of an Assassination” another product of Jump Cut Group in 2022. Her other activities in the group include collaborating in holding practical workshops making film-essay and leading collective sessions. Her main concern in creating artistic experiences is maintaining a critical point of view and keeping her work far from dominant and hegemonic criteria in the art space, as well as her trying to find alternative ways to the production of alternative knowledge, which leads to free from hierarchical structure and the pre-imposed restrictions on it. She believes in the revolutionary potential of art.
Due to her interdisciplinary academic background in art and social sciences, her research topics often include communication between art and social movements as well as feminism and gender studies.

Ardavan Tarakameh was born in 1985 in Isfahan, and founder and member of the Jump-Cut Group

Master of Arts in Film Directing from Soore University and Master of Social Science, writing in ‘Shargh’, ‘Etemad’ and ‘Etemad Melli’ newspapers, and ‘Cinema and Literature’ and ‘Book City’ magazines.
Author of articles in film criticism, literature, philosophy, and politics.
One of the authors of the book “The End of a Beginning” is a collection of authored and translated articles about the Dziga Vertov Group-Godard and Gorin, which “Elmi Farhangi” Publications have published.

Kajal Malekzadeh was born October 12, 1984 in Tehran, and one of the members of the jump-cut Group

After receiving a diploma in graphic arts, she graduated in cinema directing at the bachelor’s level. She made her first documentary called Arabesque in 2000.

  Since 2000, she has made two short documentary films, three short fiction films, two short animations, and two animated music videos, and she has been the producer of a short fiction film. At the same time, in the pre-production department, she has produced many short fiction films, and documentaries, as She has been a lookbook designer, concept artist, character, and storyboard designer. She has also designed posters for many documentaries and fiction experimental works.

Since 2003, she has been teaching animation and film to teenagers in her resume.

I (b. 1985, Tehran, Iran) am photography, mixed media, book, and textual artist. I currently live and work in Tehran. 
With my academic background in photography and art philosophy, I’ve kept moving between literature and photography to develop my artistic practice.
In my research-based artistic projects, my main focus is analyzing the mutual impacts between text and image and how this interaction leads to the audiences’ collective experience.

Arash Roshan was born in 1987 in shiraz,and is one of the members of the Jump-Cut Group

    After the Iran-Iraq war, he lived his childhood in Abadan with his family, and then at the age of 14, he immigrated to Tehran and entered the Kamal al-Mulk Conservatory in Tehran and received his diploma in theater. He started his activities in the theater with professional directors such as Akbar Zanjanpour, Adel Bezdodeh, Hamidreza ReeShahri, and… as an actor. In 2006, he entered the university and studied film directing. Then he continues his studies in the field of social studies at the postgraduate level. He has worked as an assistant director in film and television projects for many years. In 2011, he and other comrades created the Jump Cut group, the main activities of this group are the production of underground and political films that are made collectively, as well as theoretical research about political cinema, holding film screening and analysis sessions, and …

Nima Bagheri

Born in 1985, Tehran, Iran.
In 2003, after finishing high school and due to my interest in cinema, I participated in Dr Reza Nabavi’s photography, lighting and videography training courses. I started learning still graphics, motion graphics and video editing in 2005. Since 2013 I have been working with Jump Cut Group in the field of videography, graphics, motion graphics and video editing.
